Babytalk...

Last year our family had a baby boom. First, my oldest daughter had a girl in January. Then my partner's daughter gave birth to twin girls in March. And right before Christmas Henry arrived, son of my oldest son. How is that for baby bliss :-)
I have been knitting babyclothes last year, taking a break from sewing and quilting. My Christmas present for the youngest baby was a onepiece knitted in a traditional Norwegian pattern that is very popular right now. At the age of one week, he became quite fashionable.

They would not tell us if it was a boy or a girl before he was born. Surprise, surprise! And thus we did not know any name either. The gift was sent before he was born, and it was strange to write "to the baby from grandma"!

I think it is great that this pattern has become popular again. If you would like to read the history behind the sweater and pattern, you can read this website. And yes, it is in English :-)

You shoul be careful to proclaim your new years resolutions in public. It is just to embarrassing if you cannot fulfill them...
One of my resolutions for this year is to sew more than last year ( should not be hard to do, really!). With several babies in the family I have more recipients also :-)
Last summer I was the lucky winner of a book in a giveaway. There was a pattern for Bella-boo the rabbit, and I thought it was cute so I made it for my granddaughter's first birthday.

Hei, jeg er jo naken! Se til å få på meg litt klær!!!!

Hello, can't you see that I am naked! Put some clothes on me!

There, that is better. It is so warm in Australia where Bella-boo comes from that a light summer dress is appropriate!

  5. Congratulations Siri. Your knitting for your new grandson is lovely. I dressed my children in similar knitted outfits when they were little. I still have the patterns! I plan to make some baby things way ahead of time just in case my hands don't let me work when the right time arrives. Ok I have seen the most gorgeous strawberry outfit and I have no self control. :-) Cute bunny too! Well done. Good luck with your resolution.

  7. The baby suit is absolutely beautiful! The bunny is cute and her dress is very pretty; she has the sweetest face! Noting the gift card, my SIL is a far mor (and a mor mor too!)and she came from Denmark to live in Australia when she was a girl.
