Å finne riktig stoff til et prosjekt er ikke alltid lett. Nå dro jeg ut en stor bunke med julestoff for å se hva jeg kunne bruke sammen med Gail Pan stitcheriene. Vanlige røde og hvite stoff hadde sikkert blitt veldig fint, men det jeg har er reservert Dear Jane...
To find the right fabrics for a project is not always easy. I dragged out a bunch for auditioning for the Gail Pan stitcheries. Ordinary red and white fabrics would probably work out fine, but they are reserved for the Dear Jane...
Ingen av disse stoffene passet noe særlig. Men i restekurven lå en uferdig strimmel med log cabin i julestoff. Hah! Perfekt!
None of these were right in my opinion. But in the box with remnants there was an unfinished strip with log cabin in Christmas fabrics. Hah! Perfect!

Men se på hvordan stingene ble! Det ser jo ut som det er sydd av en 100 år gammel dame som ser dårlig og skjelver på hendene... To sannsynlige grunner: jeg glemte å ha stitcheryvatt på baksiden, og silketråden jeg brukte var ikke bra.
En liten del ble sydd med Moulines-tråd, og det ble mye penere! Så mye for å bruke fin og dyr silketråd :-(
But look how the stitches turned out! They look like they are made by a 100 year old lady with bad eyesight and trembling hands... I can think of two reasons: I forgot to use stitcherywadding, and I used some silk thread that did not behave right. A small part was stitched with Moulines thread, and that looks a lot better. So much for using fancy and expensive silk :-(
Til slutt har jeg lyst til å vise dere en annen mugrug. Denne fikk jeg av min datter
da hun var her forrige uke. Sommerlig og søt :-)
I would like to end this post by showing you another rugmug, made by my daughter. She gave me this when she came to visit last week. Lucky me :-)
