A break from Heavy Metal...

I am really glad that I only have two feet. Yesterday the surgeon removed the metal in my right foot. Today it hurts, I have been munching painkillers and therefore I have been somewhat floating. It was a real downer that neither the surgeon nor I were happy with how the one foot became after last years surgery, and we might have to redo it. Just thinking about two more months with my foot in a cast makes me cringe...

That was more than enough grump. Are we allowed to be grumpy when we hurt? As therapy, I have worked on the Red Jane.

The block above, D-8, was an easy block with just applique. As long as the pieces are placed corrrectly, it will look ok.
The block below is B-7. I followed the tutorial at That Quilt. It turned out to be rather complicated. If I were to do this over again, I would probably choose an easier way :-)

  1. I love the red fabric you have used for this block. You might like to look at the tutorials over at http://auntreensquilts.blogspot.com.au/ (Aunt Reen Quilts Modern) there are lots of good photos and instructions.

  3. Poor mamma! I am thinking I will do that bottom block with regular freezer paper applique for all the light parts... No funky reverse applique for me!

  6. Yes grump away all you like when you are in pain, especially if it makes you feel better. I vent on my blog so I am sure it is allowed. We are all human although the word verification keeps asking me to make sure I am not a robot. LOL

    Lovely block work.
