She came bearing presents...

Last week we did a visit-family-trip to the Oslo area. Inspired by tourist that visit 10 European countries in 5 days, we managed to visit 6 relatives in 4 days. One hour at one place, two at another, not really not enough time... but it was good to see how our dear ones are doing.

We started by visiting my mother, she has a large garden with 16 appletrees. The summer apples were ripe, so we brought some to my partner´s daughter. She likes to make fruit juice. It may turn out to be a costly visit, as we are tempted to buy a juice making attatchment to our machine also...!

Teppet fra Lynette Andersons Its Quilting Cats and Dogsble ferdig akkurat i tide :-)

The real purpose of the trip was a family party for my granddaughter, she was baptized in the USA earlier this summer. As she is my first grandchild, I must admit that I like to spoil her a little bit. In addition to the baptismal present, I brought her some handmade gifts.
The quilt from Lynette Anderson´s It´s Quilting Cats and Dogs was finished just in time :-)

The quilt was quality approved by one of my assistants...

...who helped out during construction :-)

I had gotten a request for knitted socks, but I think I have shown you these before?

... and a pair of mittens were included. These had thumbs, as the Wee one is getting to be a big girl!

Fall and colder temperatures are approaching, and so I made her a jacket and hat in soft alpacca. The pattern is originally old, but is now published in a new Norwegian knitting book

What I liked most about this set was the nice knitted lace!

I will end this post with some pictures - from the apple garden in Honefoss, the view of the Oslofjord from my sister-in-law´s apartment in Oslo, and the rain that met us coming home.

  3. What a lovely lot of presents! The quilt turned out beautifully. I like seeing Lynette's designs in bright colours.

The alpaca set is wonderful. I like wearing alpaca as it is so lightweight but very warm compared to sheep wool.

I could almost smell the apples! It has reminded me to check on my own for some which are ready from the tree rather than windfalls for crumbles.
