To the top of the hill...

The cabin we have rented lies in a quiet place, far from busy roads and traffic. The country road next to the cabin reminds me of scenes from old Swedish films where a jolly old tramp comes walking with his dog tagging along :-). Almost like we are 50 years back in time. This is a good place to be, we sit and do absolutely nothing, read a book and sew. And go for walks with the dogs.

Today we went for a walk in Ramsvik nature reserve, and have probably broken some Swedish laws... Not allowed to bring dogs without a leash :-(

Den høyeste kollen her er 58 m over havet. Barnemat, tenkte vi. Dette ser da enkelt ut :-)
... trodde vi...

As we Norwegians are a mountainloving people, we wanted to get up on the top. The highest hill here is 58 m above sea level. Piece of cake, we thought. This will be easy :-)
...little did we know...

In stead of an easy path there were large boulders and deep crevices. Jack impressed us much, he jumped like a mountain goat and was very elegant. Skip, being young and little, was a bit scared and had to be carried every now and then.

Some places were easier. It does look quite steep, doesn't it!

The view was breathtaking. It was quite windy up there, and the sailboats on the sea below made good speed.

Up and down the same way, I was hoping there would be a paved path on the back side... But alas, no!
We had to get down, though, and went to the beach to listen to the waves. The dogs were happy to find seaweed and sticks they could chew on.

At the end, Skip got to say hello to some of the natives. It was a bit scary with these huge "dogs" and he felt safe having his mummy close by :-)

  2. Ooo was an ideal place to stay! Just being away from it all with dogs and sewing is pure bliss. Thank you for taking me on that walk. Such beauty. I will take you on some Dorset walks soon. :-) Thank you for sharing.
